Description
Poltrona Frau unveils a new edition of the historic Dezza armchair by Gio Ponti with the never-before-seen Redevance upholstery fabric, also designed by Ponti. Redevance, the luxurious printed woolen satin, was rediscovered after careful archival research. Born out of Ponti’s explorations on modularity, the pattern consists of alternating circular sections in shades of blue and gray against a light background. Retro yet uniquely timeless, the pattern brings a light and up-to-date appeal to the upholstery.
Dezza was named after the street where the architect's home-studio was once located, encapsulating some of the designer's most important design principles – lightness, comfort, and a balance between aesthetics and function. Dezza’s soft, slender silhouette features some of Ponti’s signature design elements such as the tapered leg with triangular cross-section. The designer's distinct style can also be found in the simplicity of the construction system of the armchair, consisting of only four pieces - two sides, the seat and the backrest.
Dezza is available in a few different versions – Dezza 12, with a low backrest and thin armrests; Dezza 48, with a goose-down headrest integrated into the backrest; Dezza 24, in the armchair and two-seater sofa version.
