The creator of the DiGiorgi Collection, Thomas DiGiorgi, trained as a designer and has spent decades immersed in product and space design. For him, the eponymous collection embraces design as a way of life. His family has always celebrated the arts — visually, musically, culinarily. His Italian ancestors owned bakeries in Italy for generations; his grandmother was an impeccable baker, his brother an executive chef, his grandfather a musician and woodworker. “I have the violin he made for me,” Thomas says, “I’m a designer because my family fostered my creativity. As early as I can remember, my mother instilled a dedication to the arts through museum visits, trips to the theater and myriad art classes.”

Inspired by Thomas’ passion for the arts, his Italian heritage and travels throughout the country, the DiGiorgi Collection draws from the diverse terrain, architecture and artisan traditions of Italy. Venezia, from the DiGiorgi collection, is a luxurious leather inspired by Venetian artisans and crafted in Italy. A full grain aniline through dyed leather, Venezia is vacuum dried, which provides a firm and smooth hand, and undergoes a unique re-tanning process that enhances its natural beauty. The hides are soaked in large oak drums to ensure a superior quality grain, and a final, lite application of oils and waxes gives this leather its beautiful transparency and depth. Over time, Venezia develops a rich patina that reflects the lifestyle of its user.
