Lladró’s Awesome Insects Collection consists of three exquisitely handcrafted insects - a dragonfly and two species of beetles; all three are intricately crafted pieces are finished in glazed porcelain, painted with pearl luster, and delicately balanced on brass legs with a graphite finish. The Rhinoceros beetle is decorated in black, with a faded red stripe from the back to the neck and has an upwardly curving horn on its head making it unmistakable. Named after the mythological hero, the Hercules beetle, ornamented with a deep blue color with subtle touches of matte and glaze on the wings. The Dragonfly is a symbol of change, transformation, and adaptability, and is regarded as one of nature’s most intriguing and fascinating insects. Decorated in dark green, with a faded turquoise blue stripe from tail to head, the lines on the Dragonfly’s abdomen are decorated in black and its brass wings in a graphite finish. The legs of all the pieces as well as the dragonfly’s wings are crafted in brass with a graphite finish.
