Description
This wallcovering is made by hand in Japan using the original process of metal leaf combined with new ideas of layering and materials.
The materials used are Japanese washi paper, genuine silver foil, aluminum foil and dyed fine polyester organdy.
The blue organdy is placed one by one by hand and genuine silver and aluminum foil leaf is also attached by hand randomly, to create a unique design every time. A special brush is then used to adhere the foils to the fabric texture. Finally the organdy and moire materials are raised on the ground by thinly shaving the surface of the foil. This wallcovering entails several steps, each done by hand and unique on its own to create a work of art, not just a wallcovering!
The small pieces of organdy has been saved from other collections, in a way of recycling material, rather than discarding it to make more waste. A new design emerges combining old world techniques with new design!
